Are these your first socks? Is it holes at the gusset, as Cheryl said, or is it laddering in between the dpns? We can look at 'em tomorrow night, if you want.
That's okay. We're in this for the long haul. Just because they're not ready for the basket doesn't mean you can't give them to her eventually. Mail them as a special surprise later on.
She was pleased that I sent her a birthday card. Getting an actual gift would be a nice pick-me-up someday.

They're swiss f'ing cheese! I won't have them ready for tomorrow night, there is no way. sad.
